Krabi Krabong (Thai weapons)

Krabi Krabong, warrior art of Thailand, is the weapons system of the Thai martial arts. The most famous of the weapons as seen in many demonstrations is Fan Daab - sword fighting with each exponent using two swords - "Daab Song Murn". The next most popular exhibition would be the fighting with Mai Sawk (wooden armshields) against the Plong (staff) popularised by the Tony Jai movies.

There are many other weapons in Krabi Krabong such as the Hork(spear), Ngao (Halberd), Dang, Loh, Kaan (shields with sharpened edges). Krabi Krabong also teaches one how to use everyday objects as weapons, ideal for self defence.

Krabi Krabong is more than just a weapons art, it also teaches the principles and philsophies of combat.

Krabi Krabong has a total of 108 dances, every weapon having specific dances. The dances are an essential aspect of learning the art as they teach grace and elegance of movement essential in this fascinating fighting system.

Kru Tony Moore is the highest graded student of the art of Krabi Krabong outside Thailand being a Gold Sash 9th degree. Kru Tony was a student of the legendary, late "Por Kru" Samai Messamarn of the famous Buddhai Swan Sword Fighting alumni in Thailand.
